UNSTABLE DWINDLE

Nigeria the great nation, the giant of Africa. It saddens when I listen to the news and hear the dollar-naira issue or the issue of unstable economy. This issue like we all know has caused a great increase in the prices of goods, even those whose price was as low as #5 before and this has brought up the question about the government's efficiency. We push the blame to the wrong persons instead of ourselves, yeah they have a part too but we, the mass, the electorate, carry the highest. Yes, you ask- how did it come to this? How and why won't it come to this, it is our self tailored fate, self approved problem. We signed it ourselves. A house not standing as one will surely fall- it has been right from time, the only time we stood as one was during the struggle for independence'. Ethnicity, inequalities of all forms, discrimination and the likes have eaten deep into us.
It has been right from time: right from the slave trade- though that can be blamed on our ignorance, to modern slavery and unconscious subjection- leaving here to go work over there, importing goods and services, and the likes. There was this post that I read recently, it was about how we ignorantly or say intentionally help improve other countries' economy, leaving ours to dwindle. If there's a list of people that complain the most, Nigerians will hold the first position; they complain about everything- the government, home-made goods and services, and even about themselves; we use our way of lives to devalue our currency, goods, resources, and so on, and we still think a better life can come from that. You show the effort before others contribute theirs- investors won't come because they know what is at stake. Nigerians are the cause of their numerous problems, it's no colonialist. Unemployment, increased crime rate, and a lot more are all results of our unconscious actions. All the things we do in the s we do in the name of wanting the best is degrading and devaluing our 'less'.
To some people, it's a curse but a man can't be forced to change; Nigeria can't be better unless we all put our mind and body to work, not making 'mouth-set' but mindset because this dwindling economy is our respective faults. It starts from the people before it gets to the government, or what use is the government's efforts if the people ain't ready to make it work. For all this to end, we all must put God first then Nigeria, before ourselves.

START NOW

I think I now know why we find it somehow hard to fulfill our new year resolutions; is it possible to win a race you practiced for the same day it is holding. That's it, we wait for the first day before making our resolutions or working on it. To win a race, you prepare before hand. List of your resolutions should be written now and work should be started now, don't wait for the 31st of December. To make your resolutions come to past, you must believe and trust yourself that you can do it because that the only key to doing it. To attain all round success, you have to rely on only you, people might end up falling your hand if you rely on them, thus, wasting precious time. Don't expect to use the whole year in carrying out your resolutions, you have to create interphase; rest period, when you will sit to make new resolutions and enjoy your gains. The king of all, you must put everything in the hands of God because He has the keys to open and close. Only Him should you trust and rely on, never forget to talk to Him in prayers and listen to Him through the Holy book. Be determined never to stop until your are a winner! Happy New Month!!! Wish you a well spent month.

AROUND KIDS

We pray day and night to have kids and when we have them, we neglect their proper upbringing. We leave all the upbringing to their teachers in school, forgetting that these teachers have only a little quota to contribute. They spend most of their time at home. But do you, as parents, spend yours with them. Moral decadence can be traced back to the home, your kids failing morally is as a result of you not tutoring them in the right path. Gone are the days of moral building music, the songs made nowadays are ones that corrupt young kids. It teaches them stuffs that you don't want them to know and you, on your part, are not always at home to monitor and keep them in check. Movies no longer contain lessons but nude and obscene things that make kids derail from the right route. You keep your kids in the care of house-helps who do things that satisfies their taste, thus, bringing your kids to the brink ... Yeah! It's not all that doesn't have time for their kids but the time you have, how do you spend it with them. Do we spend it by watching bad movies or listening to songs that ain't good for them or sending them errands that ignites their curiousity? Or do you inquiry what happen in your absence, maybe someone across the street is sending them to buy things you can't send them to or teaching them things you object. Like we all know, kids of today have a kind of memory that is somehow unique; they learn things quickly, recognise someone they saw once at an instant, etc. As parents, what do you in front of such kids? Do you hurl abuses at someone, fight with neighbours or do something that they grab and do in front of or to their mates.Have you ever visited your kids' school to see how they fare, who they play with and the likes or even in the environment. The friends they make go a long way to determine who they turn into.We attend parties, events, etc. Some are reserved while others attend every party they have an invite for. We at times take our kids with us, exposing them to 'moral havocs' that tends to alter their morals. What do we do, say, see, play, etc around kids? Watch the music they listen to, the movies they watch, the errands they run, the friends they walk with, the events they attend, etc. For your kids to make you proud, you have to teach them to by putting them on the right part most especially, leading them in the Lord's way. Create time for your kids, don't let your job cloud the presence of your kids. Train your kids, prepare your future, that's if you want the best future for yourself and Nigeria. Watch what your kids do and what you do around them!!

ALTERNATIVES

Gone are the days of I want to be an accountant, a doctor, a lawyer; because even if you be, the tendency of getting your kind of job is slim. Nigeria has turned to the ground of survival of the fittest and this is aiding poverty with millions of youths out on the streets with no job to sustain themselves and their families. But then there is a solution to this, working in a firm isn't the only solution. I know must of us would have heard of the new trend, 'Networking'. It's one of the poverty killer available aside working in a firm. Networking gives you the opportunity to be a man of your own, you won't have to work for certain hours, you own both your capital and profit and you don't report to anyone. Every youth having nothing to do, this is your chance, you don't have to work in an office or your feild of experience, you can be a networker to actualise your dreams. Don't wait for the government or some rich man. Another is 'Agriculture'. Virtually everyone is turning to crop production and/or animal rearing. It sure pays but the main problem facing the is the land tenure system which I guess the government is seeing to. As an educated person you will have more chances. Save yourself from poverty, start a farm today. The last one I will like to talk about is 'Self-Employment'. You don't have to wait for the government before having a job to do. You can start a business of your own; you can open a store or start a school. There are thousands of ways through which you can avert poverty and build your riches. Don't sit and wait; stand and do because you are the only solution.

SAVING OR SPENDING?

Some people's monthly salary is a hundred thousand but when you see the way they live, they live a life of pity. Immediately their salary is handed to them, they spend it recklessly due to a lack of vision. A man with vision will know that he has to invest part of his salary even before pulling some for other expenses.
Most Nigerians live a life of 'spending before saving'; out of a hundred thousand, they will be left with a token which they won't even want to save. This in turn is affecting country; poverty is intensifying, and progress and development is retarding. It is from the money we save that we get some that we will invest and maybe employ labour.
We should start a life of 'saving before spending' so we can save ourselves from penury and help develop the country. To save and spend, we have to reduce our reckless spending as well as draw out a plan for our salary such that if we collect a billion as salary, we will save more than fifty percent. The richest man started by saving a kobo out of his one naira . Savers build castles. The kind of life you live depends on whether you save or spend first. Saving before spending, the key to a better life, the key to a better Nigeria.

MUSIC IN YOU

Virtually everybody wants to be a musician but ends up having nothing to show for it when they venture into it. Why? They have the talent but lack the ability to write good songs. Yeah, the first is the talent; be so sure of your self that you have the talent. When you want to start writing your songs; you must know the genre of music you sing, its matters a lot because it determines other things about it. Starting with one genre helps. The music you listen to goes a long way to determine what you write, how you sing; so, listen to the songs that suites your genre. Books too affect, the books you read shows in your songs. If you read inspirational book, you will sure be good at writing inspirational songs. Your environment is no exception, it determines the what, who, at times where. When you want to sing about certain people or place, it's better you go to their/that environment. As a person wishing to be a musician, your passion must be unbeatable, it must be expressed in your tracks because it is with it that you can touch the heart of listeners. Build and have a solid passion, one that won't melt away with time. I advise you to go about with a book and pen or a phone that records well, who knows when the inspiration will come, so you won't lose a great song. With all these, you will be the musician you want to be. Wish you well.

POLE AND LADDER

You are in a den and the available means of escape is either climbing a pole or using a ladder. Though the lion is asleep, what if he wakes, which will you use to escape? Like it's expected of any rational being, we would go for the ladder. There are two roads available for man to take; the wide or the narrow. To some of us, we do think that our journey on this road starts after death. NO! It actually takes place now. The wide road; very free, no havoc, you just keep moving like you are walking down a slope. Being evil makes you free, evil can't attack evil and the good won't do it, so you are on the wide road where no one will attack you. The narrow road, on the other hand, isn't tarred, it is filled with tests, it's like climbing a mountain, and that's why the good ones can't be free, their evil counterparts are doing everything they can to bring them to the wide road. In real terms, taking the wide road is like climbing the pole, you are indirectly free while taking the narrow one is like using the ladder, Why? Because you have a Saviour, who has made a ladder for you. This life is vain, the life after is what we should fight for. As always said, 'this life is a market and we'll one day give account to God'. Give your life to the One who will help you see comfort in your discomfort, hope in hopelessness, strength in your weakness, ... Take the ladder and not the pole, don't commit yourself to eternal suffering. Behave like a rational being, go for the ladder!

CORRUPTED FILES

There are lots of corrupted files out there. A corrupted file is a file that has its content changed so as to stop serving its production purpose. We were all created for a purpose but upon corruption, we forget our purposes. It starts from one corrupted file to millions. Resisting corruption isn't easy especially in the midst of many corrupted files. When you mingle with bad people, no matter how good you are, you will be affected Nigeria is recorded to have the highest rate of corruption, just like the deadly Ebola, everyone has been affected in one way or the other. Everyday, we talk about how corrupt leaders, forgetting it all started from somewhere. It starts from, 'give me something or else, i will tell' to embezzlement. Corruption binds your eyes, hands and everything, it reaches a level where it kills you. We can stop this today, by starting from ourselves down to our families. With this, we can clean Nigeria of corrupted files so that development and progress can set in. Don't let it stop you from doing what is right because a corrupted file is a worthless one. Nigeria can be cleansed, I believe!!!

UNKNOWN KILLER

He was born and bred in the slum. He led a dirty life and chose killing both young and old as well as causing havoc as a daily job. He became a notorious killer who carries out his activities at night. He causes fire outbreaks, leaves one hospitalized and leads to death. The mosquito is the unknown killer that some of us don't know. The havoc it causes are outnumbered and its rate of killing increase day by day through the widespread 'malaria'. Its action is said to be intense in developing countries due to the lack of santitation. It has had enough time, it's high time we sent it packing, we want its hands off us. To do this, we must keep a clean environment, use the mosquito net and be careful when using the insecticides as well as visit your doctor regularly. For a healthy life, cleanliness must be a life partner.

RACISM: AMONG US

We complain about discrimination from the outside whereas we are 'discriminants'. There was this competition that was held in my zone, with no doubts, I was qualified for it. On the day participants would be selected, I was well dressed, having no fear; when the names were called, it was so suprising that my name was not in the list. The students selected were all hostelites. It was so painful that the school couldn't make it to the final. We all talk of racism, sex discrimination and the likes as if it is some war waged against us by outsiders. We are racists, 'discriminants'. You say you are not, why is it that you carry a bad face when you see people from other tribes? What of you, the boss who employs only females. What do you expect from foreigners? Nothing less. We must conquer the battle among us to win the one from outside. The main reason for discrimination is the absence of agape love in our hearts. If you love your fellow human as yourself, you won't want to insult him in one way or the other. The One who creates us doesn't hate us for any reason be it our skin, tribe, sex or the likes. The only remedy for all forms of discrimination is love. Stop all the discriminations and let's love ourselves. How can we make things work well if we are not united? United we stand, divided we fall!

YOU HAVE TO

You woke up Got into your car And you drove off To a village your friend talked about You saw kids playing A mother watching You approached her And you started discussing You promised heaven and earth 'If you can allow your child to follow me to the city I would make sure she has a better life' The ignorant woman nodded in response In she went To prepare her child's luggage So motherly that she requested to follow her In a jiffy, you were ready to leave You drove, drove and drove, finally you got home You behaved so mannerly that no one would doubt you Some days after her arrival She left for the village leaving her child in your care At first, you kept the pace You showed your true colour a week after Though you fulfilled your promises, it was like not fulfilling it at all You made the child go through hell Day, and night, the child must have something to do You turned her into a modern slave All this will one day pay for good You would then realise you've made a mistake What you will do to yourself should be done to others. It's high time we stopped. We go to the villages, promising the illiterates something we won't do. We take their kids to our houses and turn them to modern slave. I want us to know that what goes around will surely come back around, you have your kids and you don't know what the future has for them. Your unmindful act is contributing to the country's shambles and you are one of those saying Nigeria can't be better. You have no time left, you will soon be caught in the act. Change for a better Nigeria!

PEACE ACCORD

Some weeks ago, a peace accord, stating that peace will be maintained during hustings, election and after election, was signed by leaders of political parties and yet we hear of happenings that go against the peace accord.
Does that mean the accord was made to deceive people? I will reserve my answer till after the election.
As clear as these happenings are, some of us find it difficult to see thus, joining them in it. It's high time we became wise and stopped following them like puppets. The notion- do or die is the main thing affecting some of us which isn't going to work for peace and progress in the country.
The best thing we can do is wait for the election, vote our candidate and accept the result no matter who it favours. Our unity is needed for a better Nigeria.
Register and vote before complaining, the right way!

NIGERIA; 'MONO-LY'

For some years now, Nigeria has been running her economy 'mono-ly' and this tends to have an effect in the life of some Nigerians.
Some of us find it difficult to accept new ideas, we stick to the existing ones. We are surrounded by water, why are we catching a fish when there are other fishes that we could catch and sell at higher prices. This notion happens to be one of those things affecting us. There are other ideas that are available for our benefits. Instead of sticking to one, try others too.
Hmmm! Nigeria, only God knows when. Since 1956, though discovered in Araromi, Ondo state in 1908, she has depended on crude oil as it only source of revenue, totally neglecting agriculture. Presently, it seems like it's drying up, with the different resources she has been blessed with, can't she invest in other sectors. Investment into other sectors should be carried out quickly. If the crude oil should dry, ..... Let diversify now!

NOT BEYOND US

Today, fourth of February is the world's cancer day. A day set aside to create awareness, to enlighten people on everything about cancer.
This year's theme is 'Not Beyond Us'. Staying in your house, forbidding cancer will not make you beyond it. So, instead of siting in your house doing nothing, why not stand up and go check your body system to be sure there is no cancer.
In conclusion, cancer is an uncontrolled increase of a group of cells in the body. Late discovery might be incurable due to the extension of the affected cells to other cells. Cancer is not beyond us, that's when it is discovered early.

NIGERIA; WAKE UP

Nigeria, the gaint of all nations,
Filled with great things,
The envy of all other nations ...
Old you are,
Yet you wander in blindness,
Wallowing in negativity,
You know not where you are heading...
Nigeria, the land blessed with honey and milk,
Yet her kids cry for money,
Is she not rich?
Where is her honey?
Has she split her milk?
Or have the gods taken it ...
Nigeria, wake up from your slumber,
For how long will you remain this way,
You have made yourself so low,
That no one seems to recognise you,
Wake up for it's getting late!!!

CHANGE or POWER?

Which is better; change or power? After all these years, are we still dumb? If something ceases to do what we expect of it, we discard it. So, what are we still waiting for, or what is the essence of someone exerting a force, power, directed towards a negative path, filled with corruption, insecurity, unemployment, strikes, and the likes. A man who eats his wife's soup will think it's the best. Let's go for another choice, someone who will direct us towards change and positive metamorphoses. Elect Change not Power, choose the right choice now to avoid regrets later. Be wise and be right. Go for Change.

BE WISE

It's here again. It seems like yesterday, our waiting would soon be over and another opportunity will arise to choose another person for the job. Pending this time, I will want to bring to our memories their usual methods, sharing of things would be at its peaks so as to cajole people. Wait! What am I talking about? It's the forthcoming election, if they should bring anything at all, collect it because it is from our labour, directly or indirectly. When the time comes, don't allow their things imprison you, your mind or anything about you, choose the person you know will perform the job the best way. It is an opportunity, don't let it slip off. Hmmm! Four years, vote rightly and wisely. To build a better Nigeria, it's in our hands. Be WISE!!!

My Regards

It's so painful that I am posting this today, I would have posted it on the 1st but it was delayed by some factors
No matter how big a cake is, it's sure, it's going to finish. That's same for every other thing. 2014 seemed like it won't finish with its big challenges but now it's finished. It was with a lot of change overs and new evolutions.
Things of different sorts which can't be expressed happened but then we still survived. Millions are dead, some displaced while some are hospitalized, our being here is not by our power or might but by the Great Grace.
With the different things happening to me, I ask myself 'why am I still here', but then I realise that there is a reason for my being here. And when I feel like losing it, I get this assurance that keeps me going. With the challenges, problems and things I am made to pass through, I come to realise He has made me a winner. If not for Him and His Great Grace, I wouldn't reach this day.
He controls everything about me,cleanse my numerous sins and everytime I realise He is with me, I find it difficult to lose hope even when moving forward seems impossible. And with these, I give all glory back to Him for all He has done, He is doing and He is yet to do. 'Olorun metalokan, mo gbe o ga, mo yin o, mo si se o loba'.
My family is not an exception of His works. So, Lord I thank you for the lives of everyone in my family and for your overwhelming attention and for always being there when it's good and not. Thank you Lord.
My back wouldn't have had a good foundation if not for the numerous good mentors, whose names I won't be mentioning, He had given to me. Thus, glorifying Him for what He has done in their lives and for what He has made them do in mine. Be glorified Jehovah.
It's not everyone that is going to like you, everything, good or bad, has their own benefits are the things I recall when I remember my peers, and everytime I remember them, I praise God for their lives and for making us meet. Be thou exalted.
After all, I wouldn't forget to thank God for the lives of my blogspot's visitors and the wonders He has and He is yet to perform through the blogspot. Thank You Father.
Now that the Almighty have been appreciated, I will also want to thank my family, my mentors and my friends. Also, I would like to commend the efforts of my blogspot's visitors, who visit at times when I am online and offline, and I will also like to express my gratitude to all the sources from which I get the inspirations for their indirect contributions. To everyone, I say 'Thank You'.
It's the new year, challenges are upgraded but then if we are prepared they would be like nothing. This year would be our years of heart wishes fulfillment. Together, hale and hearty, shall we say Happy New Year into next year. Happy New Year !!!
This being my regard for the last month and the last year. Thanks very much. Love you loads. God bless you all.
