The candle is something that should be kept at hand now that both the power providers and petroleum providers are like co-operating; power is unstable and petrol is nowhere to be found.
A candle is a source of light, it swallows darkness. Before it becomes a candle, it passes through a lot and finally comes out as a small matter. We ignite a candle for a purpose; to light up a room, to read, and so on.
When a candle is running out of length, we ignite another. At times, the candle is extinguished by wind or by us when it has fully served it purpose or to save it for another day. There are different types for different purposes: some big, some small; some for use in the house, some at the church. No matter how long you maintain a candle, it will burn out one day.
We all are like candles in the hands of the Lord, He created us to light up the world. He knows there are lots of problem ahead; the wind will blow our lights off, at times, He will too not because that is the end. He knows our problems, their sources and reasons and also knows we still have more light in us. We all have different purposes to fulfill, we all can't light up the same place but one of our major purposes is to light up others because no matter how long we shine, the candle will burn out one day and the ones who will light up our portion are those we ignited. As men of riches and means, rather than spend our blessings on things of no benefits, we should use it to benefit everyone with no discrimination.
