Good morning world, long time... An event took place yesterday, the 14th of December, 2014, one which celebrates the people in the entertainment industry in Nigeria, it's the Headies. It took place at Eko Hotel and Suites convention hall, after the red carpet, a cocktail party followed after which the main event started. Without being told, we should know that the event must have been a glamorous one. The last award for the night was won by Davido, the Artiste of the year alongside the Song of the year, Aye. Olamide wasn't an exception, he took home the Album of the year and Rap album of the year both with his album, Baddest Guy Ever Liveth. Patoranking also joined Davido and Olamide in taking home two awards being Best reggae/dancehall with Girlie O and the Next rated act. Others who happened to win an award for themselves were: Sean Tizzle collected R'n'B album of the year with his album, The Journey. Kcee with his Take Over album took home the Hiphop world revolution. Rookie of the year was collected by Reekado Banks. Don Jazzy was given Producer of the year for the Dorobucci hit,the Recording of the year was given to Cobhams Asuquo for his record, Ordinary people. The song,God on the Mic bagged the Lyricist on the roll award for Jesse Jags. The Mavins crew collected the Best pop single with their Dorobucci song. Best rap single was won by Phyno for his song Parcel. Let somebody love you won the Best R'n'B single for Tubaba. The Double Wahala man, Oritsefemi also got an award, the Best street hop. The best alternative song went to the newcomer Boj for his song Bolaji. Timi Dakolo won Best male vocal performance with his Iyawo Mi while Niyola won the Best female vocal performance with Love to Love you featuring Banky W. Wizzy Pro won the Best collabo with his song Emergency in which he featured Patoranking,Runtown and Skales. Best African artiste was won by Sarkodie and Sir Dr Victor Uwafor was inducted into the Hall of Fame.The night was truly a great one and a great one indeed for the winner especially the young guy, Patoranking. The hosts were Toke Makinwa and Basketmouth.
