'EEWO'(TABOO)

I hope you know why the Yoruba formed taboo. Ow you don't. Ok I will tell you. I read and heard that the so-called 'eewo' was formed to see to the yorubas'(yoruba people) ethics and behaviours. It was learnt that people were doing some things that are harmful to them and the society so the elders came together to form some things that will put fear in the people,thus keeping them safe. Take for example,this taboo 'don't sit at the entrance/doorstep while eating' was formed to see to the health of the people. Meaning that in the process of eating at the entrance, germs and dirts can enter the food which can consequently cause a disease. These taboos were formed to maintain order,hygiene both personal and public and other things that are of benefit to the people.
